Prerequisite Changes in KinesioljDgy.

Action taken by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Studies 

at its meeting on October 24, 1978 gives rise to the following 

motion: 

MOTION 

That Senate approve and recommend approval to the Board 

of Governors the addition, as specified in S78-144 , of 

B4CH 

440 to the list of upper division options available 

to students to fulfill requiremen:s in Kinesiology, as 

part of the nine hours described on page 330 of the 

1978-79 calendar.

Acting in accordance with the powers delegated to the Senate 

Committee on Undergraduate Studies by Senate (S78-10), the Senate 

Committee on Undergraduate Studies approved, at its meeting on 

October 24, 1978, changes in description and prerequisite for 

Kinesiology courses as outlined below and detailed in S78-144. 

In accordance with S78-10 this information is being provided 

to Senate for information only.

The following changes are requested by the departmental curriculum 

committee and we ask that these items be placed on the agenda of the 

next undergraduate curriculum committee meeting of FIDS.

Addition of BICH 440 to the list of upper division 

options available to students to fulfill require- 

ments in Kinesiology, as part of the nine hours described on page 330. 

Rationale: This will enable students to pursue 

aspects of Biochemistry associated with human 

movement studies.

Kinanthropometry ((IN. 303-3) 

Change in calendar description from: 

A study of change in bodily form and function associated 

with chronological use and physiological maturity in 

relation to genetic and environmental influences. 

To: A study of human size, shape, proportion, 

composition, maturation and gross function related 

to basic concepts of growth, exercise, performance 

and nutrition. 

3. ? 

Change in prerequisite for KIN. 326-3 Functional 

Anatomy from: 

BISC 316 

To:

100 and at least 30 hours undergraduate 

course credit. 

Rationale: Bioscience 316 has been a"hidden" prerequisite 

of the Kinesiology prograin to date. Bioscience has now 

made BISC 204 prerequisite for BISC 316 making an 

additional requirement for KIN. majors.
