MEMORANDUM
Action taken by the Senate Committee on Under-
graduate Studies at its meeting of November 29, 1977, gives
rise to the following motion:
MOTION
That Senate approve, and recommend approval
to the Board of Governors, the regulation
that only six hours of Upper Division credit
transfer from other institutions can count
as part of the fifteen (15) required Upper
Division hours for a Minor in the Faculty of
Arts.
.
?
Note -
?
There is currently no limitation on the amount
of transfer credit which may be credited toward
a Minor. The regulation is proposed in order to
guarantee that a majority of the credits counted
toward a Minor be earned at Simon Fraser Univer-
sity.

SiMON FRASER UNIVERSITY
SCOS 77.5/
MEMORANDUM
Mr. H.M Evans
?
From
Sheila Roberts, Secretary
Facultyof Arts Curriculum Committ
Date.
November 8, 1977
The Faculty of Arts Curriculum Committee at its meeting of September
22, 1977 passed the following motion, which has since been ratified
by the Faculty of Arts in a referendum ballot:
"That only 6 hours of Upper Division credit
transferred from other institutions can count
as part of the fifteen (25) required Upper
Division hours for a minor degree."
Because this motion
1
if approved would impinge on all programmes of
the university, perhaps it should be circulated to other faculties
for discussion. Therefore, I have not included this item in the
Faculty of Arts section of the 1978-1979 calendar. Please place
it on the next agenda of SCUS.
Thank you.
