Action taken by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate
Studies at its meeting of November
13, 1979 gives rise to the
following motion:
MOTION
That Senate approve and recommend approval to the Board,
as set forth in
S79-122,
the proposed changes in
Archaeology as follows:
I) Chauqe in requirements for Majors and Minors
Hi) Course changes, credit hours from 5 hours to 3 hours

NOTE: The Departmental representative informed SCEJS
that the transcripts of all Archaeology graduates
had been reviewed and that the Department was
concerned about the limited coverage of the
discipline in some cases. Furthermore, it was
felt that some courses required less of students
than was appropriate for the 5 semester hours
credit they carried. In other instances require-
ments will be lessened to accord with the reduced
credit.
