"That Senate delegate to SCUS the responsibility to
receive, on a semester basis, reports from Deans of
Faculties on topics covered under Special Topics."
Rationale:
Under current Senate procedures it is required that "Once
each semester Deans of Faculties report to Senate on topics covered
under Special Topics."
This requirements was introduced in 1974 when it was con-
sidered necessary that there be exercised some care in the manner

In which
.Special Topics courses were utilized. Reports have been
coming forward to Senate, for information purposes, for some years.
It no longer seems necessary that this large volume of paper come
forward directly to Senate but that the responsibility for keeping
in review the Special Topics offerings be delegated to the Senate
Committee on Undergraduate Studies.
