Introductory Studio in Visual Art I
Deals with problems of art-making in terms derived from recent and
non-traditional directions in visual art. Work In a variety of media will
be assigned and some reading is required.
(Studio)
Prerequisite: This is a limited entry course. Departmental permission in
,ritinv required prior to Registration. A laboratory fee is required.
Students with tredit for FPA.180-3 under its former title may not take this
course for further credit.
3)
Rationale: ?
As most students entering this limited entry course form the core
of the Visual Art program, it is important that we have some sense of their
interest or commitment at this level, as it determines to a large degree
enrollments at the upper division. While we do not want to prevent interested
students in other disciplines from participating in our program, we feel It
necessary to have some Indication of the range of students coming into this course.
For this reason we have not requested a portfolio Interview, which would be
exclusive, but a personal interview, to get some sense of the student's
interest or experience.
?
A laboratory fee has already been approved.
