SENATE COMMITTEE ON AGENDA AND RULES
GRANTING OF DEGREES,
Subject...

?
Date. ?
21, 1982
At its meeting of October 18, 1982 the Senate Committee on Agenda
and Rules considered request from the Faculty of Business Administration
on the above-mentioned topic and recommends to Senate as shown in the motion
below.
Actions already undertaken by Senate have approved the establishment
of the Faculty of Business Administration and that the name of the degree
to be granted in the Faculty of Business Administration be Bachelor of Business
Administration with this degree title to commence in September, 1982 for those
students completing requirements through the new Faculty of Business Administration
which has been established effective September 1982.
For various reasons the Faculty of Business Administration has
proposed that those students who completed requirements for the degree in
Summer 82-2 be permitted to receive the degree of Bachelor of Business
Administration or the degree of Bachelor of Arts-at the choice of the student.
Students have been advised of this intent and a number have deferred application
for graduation to obtain the B.B.A.
SCAR recommends acceptance of the request. If the motion is approved
by Senate it is intended that the Faculty of Business Administration ensure that
the choice be ascertained for each individual, and that the graduation
applications reflect this data.
?
In those instances where the granting of a
?
degree by Senate to a member of this group was done at the October meeting of
Senate, any necessary technical adjustments would be made by the Registrar's Office.
MOTION: ?
"That Senate approve that students who completed requirements for
the bachelor degree with Major.or Honors in Business Administration
and related components
?
unr0982, who have applied or who are
?
now applying, be granted the Bachelor of Business Administration
through that Faculty, or the Bachelor of Arts through the Faculty
of Arts, at the choice of the student."
