Proposed Enrolment Limitations

Proposed New Course CMPT 101-4;
CMPT 103-4 - Change of Title and Prerequisite
The Agenda and Support Papers for the October 5, 1981 meeting of
Senate were distributed several days ago, with indication that Papers S.81-126
and S.81-127 were in draft form awaiting review and possible modification by
the Senate Committee on Academic Planning and the Senate Committee on Under-
graduate Studies. It was further indicated that if revisions were made the
necessary new pages would be distributed on Friday, October 2.
Some changes for the two papers were approved by
SCAP
and SCUS and
some new pages are necessary. The changes are such that they can be included
in the blue motion sheets without necessity of reflecting them directly by full
new support paper pages.
Specifically the support papers distributed earlier should be retained
and brought to Senate (but do not show all modifications); the new blue motion
sheets (S.81-126 and S.81-127and dated October 1, 1981) distributed with this
memorandum should replace the blue motion sheets distributed earlier.
These new blue motion sheets incorporate the changes and substance
of the proposals in the original papers and should focus points for Senate
discussion. The blue sheets as usual also are being used to give some indi-
cation of the items discussed at SCAP and/or SCUS.
Herewith are the new replacement blue sheets for:
S.81-126 - Enrolment Limitations - School of Business Administration
S.81-127 - Computing Science, etc.
It may be of some help to members of Senate, particularly new members,
to note that Paper S.81-126 is a paper designed to vary some aspects of regula-
tions approved one year ago by Senate relating to Business Administration.
Computing Science has not had regulations in those areas of enrolment
restrictions. Paper S.81-127 is a paper designed to establish regulations
similar to those of Business Administration of one year ago, with a lead-in
section akin to the present varying action of Business Administration, i.e. to
establish the base in the regulation section but to up-date it through the
varying clause of the lead-in motion. The Computing Science proposals also
,.
contain some clauses not in the earlier or up-dated Business Administration
proposal; some have proven to be somewhat controversial. Further information
appears on the individual blue sheets from
SCAP/SCUS.
