CURRICULUM CHANGE
DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
p. 254 BUS. 424-3 Managerial Accounting II
CHANGE OF PREREQUISITE
FROM: BUS. 324-3 (formerly Comm 324-3);'60 credit
hours.
TO:
?
BUS. 324-3 (formerly Comm 324-3), BUEC 333-3;
60 credit hours.
The Undergraduate Curriculum Committee of the Department of Business
Administration has approved the recommendation received from members
of the departmental Accounting group that prerequisites for BUS. 424
include BUEC 333 as well as BUS. 324. Accounting applications of
statistical techniques are taught in this course, and a few students
begin 424 without the appropriate-background.----
The areas in question are: Decision-making under uncertainty,
?
-.
using probabilities, expected value, and standard deviation; cost
estimation and modeling using linear regression, goodness of fit,
correlation, standard •error and confidence intervals. 'Other areas
include accounting applications of statistical quality control, and
of multiple regression.
It is felt that a clearer specification of the background needed for
this course would be accomplished by including
BUEC
333 as a prerequisite.
