The present calendar entry which describes the Substitution of Group
E courses for Groups A or B is ambiguous. The Faculty of Arts Curriculum
Committee at its meeting of July
9, 1981
has approved the following re-
wording in order to clarify the original intent of the Committee, which
was that students could substitute 3 hours in any given group, but for
Group A or Group B the remaining
9
hours must be taken from at least two
Group A or Group B Departments - i.e., Departments in the Faculty Qf Arts.
Would you please put this on the agenda of the next SCUS meeting.

A, B, or C, with the constraints that a maximum total
of 3 hours may be substituted in any one group, and that
the remaining 9 hours in Group A or Group B must be
taken from at least two Arts departments. Group E
courses so applied will count towards the 70 required
hours in the Faculty of Arts."
RATIONALE: To clarify the ambiguity in the present calendar.
