At a meeting held on Tuesday, November 18, 1980 members of the Faculty of
Interdisciplinary Studies Undergraduate Curriculum Cittee discussed
the Occupaticmal Health Science proposal. This proposal encasses the
following

RATIONALE FOR A
MINOR IN OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SCIENCE
When the Department approved an honors program and an Extended
Studies Diploma program in Occupational Health Science, the possibility
of offering a Minor in Occupational Health Science was discussed.
It became obvious that without any additional stress on the facilities
and resources, eligible students from all faculties of the University
may be able to obtain a Minor.
Because of the specialized nature of the new courses in Occ-
upational Health Science, specific upper divisiOn courses were
reviewed and recommended. It was also decided, that BISC 311-3
(Introduction to Environmental Toxicology) shpuld also bea
required course for a Minor in OHS. On that
basis
the basic
requirement. for a Minor in Occupational Heai1th'Science was approved
