REGULATIONS
Action undertaken by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate
Studies at its meeting of October 21, 1980 gives rise to the follow-
ing motion:
MOTON
"That Senate approve, as set forth in S.80-149,
the proposed changes in General Program
regulations of the Faculty of Arts and the
proposed changes in Honors Program regulations
of the Faculty of Arts."

RATIONALE:

In the discussions
of
changes to the Faculty of
Arts Group Requirements which were made in 1975 the
Committee discussed requiring at least 30 hours outside
the Major or Honors department for a B.A. degree. However,
in its written form, the regulation continued to read program.
The present Committee agreed that requiring 30 hours outside
the Major or Honors department was in keeping with the
philosophy of breadth espoused by the Faculty in its present
regulations.
