Report to Senate of the Activities of the Executive
Committee, Senate Graduate Studies Committee from January 1982
to December 1982.

The Executive Committee acted with delegated power from the
Senate Graduate Studies Committee to:-
Approve:

i. All recommendations for the award of graduate degrees.
In 1982, 141 graduate degrees were awarded.
2.
Recommendations for Admission involving substantial
doubt. There was one recommendation which was approved.
3.
All new graduate courses. There were (6) new courses
approved; two in the Master of Natural Resource
Management Programme; two in Computing Science; one in
the Department of Biological Sciences; one in the
Department of Economics.
4.
Graduate Curriculum Changes in the Faculty of Business
Administration MBA Programme; in the Departments of
Psychology, Geography, History, Languages, Literature
and Linguistics, Biological Sciences, Computing Science,
Natural Resources Management and in the Faculty of
Education.
5.
Approval of changes in the General Regulations for
Graduate Studies.
6.
Discussion of Proposed Revised Procedures for Curriculum
Approval - forwarded to the Senate Graduate Studies
Committee.
7.
Discussion on Special Student Status - forwarded to the
Senate Graduate Studies Committee.

Discussion on re-admitting students to the MBA programme.
