The disclaimer statements which follow are intended for inclusion in the
University calendar. They are based on advice from the University lawyers; they
were discussed by the Deans at their meeting of December 14, 1983 and they received
the approval of that group.

Item 5 appears in the current calendar and it is

intended that it be continued.
MOTION:
"That Senate approve and recommend approval to the Board of Governors
inclusion in the University calendar of the following disclaimer
statements:
1.
Changes and Corrections
This calendar is printed to provide students and others
interested in Simon Fraser with information about Simon
Fraser University.
?
The University considers this calendar

to be accurate as of the time of its printinq. In the
event of errors in the calendar, the actual courses, curricula,
policies, procedures and regulations and requirements in effect
will prevail over the provisions printed in the calendar.
In addition, the policies, procedures, programs, regulations
and requirements are constantly being reviewed and revised.
Any such revision may be made by Simon Fraser University
without notice and shall take effect at the time of the revision
unless a later date is specified when the revision is adopted.
Simon Fraser University will endeavour to give the University
community as much notice of the revision as it considers the
circumstances permit, and will endeavour to incorporate the
revision in the next printing of the Calendar. ?
Revisions
include additions, cancellations and deletions as well as
changes.
2. Reyisions of Curricula and Academic Policies
Simon Fraser University constantly reviews its academic policies,
programs, courses and curricula and the requirements in
connection with them. ?
It reserves the right to add to, delete,
cancel and change any of these effective on the date tho
decision to do so is made or on such later date as specified at
the time the decision is made. ?

the University community as much notice of the decision as it
considers the circumstances permit and will endeavour to have
the next printing of its calendar reflect the decision.

3.
Change of Instructor, Day, Time
Information concerning the day, time, place and instructor for
courses is provided each semester in the publication
"Pre-registration Handbook and Timetable". Simon Fraser
University reserves the right to make changes in these arrange-
ments without notice although the University will endeavour to
inform students affected by such changes.
4.
Class Interruption
Simon Fraser University makes reasonable efforts to ensure
that its classes and courses of instruction proceed on a
regular basis and without interruption. Faculty have certain
discretion to cancel or change the timetable for their classes;
they will endeavour to give reasonable notice of any cancellation
or change. Simon Fraser University will not be responsible
for cancellation or change of any class. Neither will Simon
Fraser University be responsible for the interruption or
termination of any class or course of instruction which results
from fire, riot, labour disruption or any other event which
occurs despite the University's efforts, or for failure to give
notice of the interruption or termination.
5.
Enrolment Limitations (as in current Calendar)
