MRM 631 (Re: Webster Memo of July 9, 1 85

Subject....................................................
?
Date .....................................................
When the MRM was first set up in 1979 certain courses were piggybacked
from Geography, MRM 631 being one of them. This was considered a cost-saving
method of using a course in one department for a requirement in another.
However, over time it was found that the MRM 631, in that format, was too
theoretically inclined for the MRM students and the content was given more of
a management orientation over time.
TITLE CHANGE:
The proposed title - Applied Geomorphology and Hydrology - is a more
accurate portrayal of the contents of the course.
DESCRIPTION CHANGE:
This was done to show the applied component of the course was as
important as the principles.
?
?
In short, MRM' 631 has evolved over time and these changes wil provide a
more accurate description of the course as
¼
it is now taught.
