CURRICULUM REVISIONS
DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE
HONORS PROGRAM
Page 227 ?
From: To obtain admission to an Honors program in Political
Science, a student must have a Cumulative Grade Average
of 3.0 and a Grade Point Average of 3.5 in all Political
Science courses.
To: To obtain admission to an Honors program in Political
Science, a student must have a Cumulative Grade Point
Average of 3.0 and a Grade. Point Average of 3.33 in
all Political Science courses.
Rationale: When the Honors entrance requirement was initiated, a B+
• ?
Grade Point Average was calculated at 3.5. Since B+ is
now calculated at 3.33, the change is necessary to bring
the Department into line with university policy.

requirement in Political science.........
...........................................
We attach a request to change the Department's entrance requirement for
the Honours Program.
We wish to change the wording from "a Cumulative Grade Point Average of
3.0 and a Grade Point Average of 3.5 in all Political Science courses" to
"a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 and a Grade Point Average of 3.33
in all Political Science courses". The Department wishes to maintain a B
average requirement for entrance into the honors program, and with the changes
to the grading system a B is now a GPA of 3.33 whereas formerly it was 3.5.
