vacancy created on the Board with L. Hissey's appoint as Chairperson.
. . 1984 was an even busier year than 1983 for the Senate Appeals Board.
Strong pressures on students to maintain course loads and grade point
averages continued to give rise to many appeals for retroactive with-
drawal
.
. In addition, departmental restrictions on third attempts at
courses have led students to seek withdrawals from earlier attempts;
a trend which the Board finds undesirable.
In the light of the difficulty which many students may have in seeking
employment, the Board has advised a number of students who have been
required to withdraw from the University to attempt transfer courses
at a community college for possible credit at Simon Fraser University
if and when they are re-admitted.
