REPORT TO SENATE OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE SENATE GRADUATE STUDIES COMMITTEE

FROM JANUARY 1985 TO DECEMBER 1985.

Number of Meetings - Eight (8)

The Senate Graduate Studies Committee acted with delegated power from Senate to:-

APPROVE:

1.

Recommendations for Admission under Special Arrangements. Six recommendations

were considered. Six were approved.

2.

The Committee approved the addition of the Chairperson of the Women's Studies

Graduate Program Committee as a voting member of the Senate Graduate Studies

Committee.

3.

Graduate curriculum changes were approved fOr the departments of Geography,

Biological Sciences, Chemistry, History, Political Science, Natural Resources

Management. Computing Science, English, the Day and Executive Business

Administration programs.

4.

New Programmes - Master's of Engineering

- Master of Applied Science

Both programmes were approved.

5.

Approval of changes in General Regulations for Graduate Studies.

6.

Graduate Student Appeal of requirement to withdraw. Appeal sustained.

7.

Approval of new graduate grading system.
