This is to inform you that the Faculty of Science, at its meeting held on Monday April 18, 1988 has
approved the following changes to the requirements for the B.Sc. MAJOR Program. I would
appreciate it very much if you would place this motion in the agenda of the next SCUS. meeting
for consideration and approval.
Requirements for the B..S.c. (Major) (Paper FSC 6-88)
To
approve the tollwing changes to the requirements for the B.Sc. (Major)
From:
1. 120 semester hours of credit which, include:
a)
a minimum of 28 semester hours of upper division credit (i.e. courses
numbered 300 and 400) in one subject area, formally known as the
major.
b)
additional semester hours of upper division credit; bringing the total to
a minimum of 44 semester hoursof upper division credit.
c)
a minimum of 6 semester hours of electives in subjects taken outside
the Faculty of Science (excluding EDUC 401, 402, 405 and 406).
2. Additional requirements as specified by the major program.
3. A graduation grade point average of 2.0 calculated on the required 120
semester hours, or on the 60 semester hours taken in thei11iJflve1s&
including the 44 semester hours of upper division credit.
4. A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in the courses comprising the
major studies.
To:
