This is to recommend that PHIL 001 be added to the list of elective
courses from within the Faculty of Arts in the Certificate in Literacy
Instruction that passed Senate on Dec. 14. This matter has been discussed
with the Chairman of Philosophy, and representatives from the Faculty of
Education and the Certificate planning committee. I am willing to speak for
the Faculty of Arts Curriculum Committee in approving this minor but
desirable amendment to the program, in the hope that it can be included in
the new calendar entry.
