TERMS OF REFERENCE
1.
To determine a philosophy and objectives for the Downtown
Campus and to outline program types and areas. This task
• ?
is to be completed by November 15, 1983 and a report made
to SCAP for transmittal to Senate and the Board of
Governors.
(Note: It is intended that implementation of any plans
to seek private funds or designated government
funds will await the completion and consideration
of this report.)
2.
To develop proposals for programs to be offered at the
Downtown Campus. These proposals are to include an
assessment of needs, an academic rationale, orogram
detail, enrolment predictions, and costs and revenues.
In carrying out this task, it is expected that the Committee
will establish Task Forces for each program area and, where
appropriate, Advisory Committees of experts from outside
the University.
3.
To establish and maintain effective liaison with the SFU/
Downtown Council, other community groups (e.g. labour,
professional, cultural) and the civic and provincial
governments and to ensure full communication with academic
departments, Senate, the Board of Governors, and the general
University community
concerning
the development of plans for
the Downtown Campus.

To consider and recommend on administrative and
organizational issues associated with the Downtown
Campus.
5.
At an appropriate time, to develop plans, in conjunction
with Physical Plant and Planning, for buildings and other
physical facilities for the Downtown Campus.
6.
The Committee will present progress reports to SCAP every
two months.
