Action taken by the Senate Committee on Academic Planning at its meeting of
December 15, 1987 gives rise to the following motion:
MOTION
"That Senate approve and recommend approval to the Board
of Governors, as set forth in S. 88-2 , the statement of cooperation
between Simon Fraser University and the Emily Carr College of
Art and Design."

STATEMENT OF COOPERATION?
BETWEEN?
EMILY CARR COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN?
AND ?
SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY
1. Simon Fraser University and Emily Carr College of Art and
Design share a common purpose to provide four-year,
post-secondary education opportunities in the creative arts;
therefore, it is in the interest of both to pursue
cooperative arrangements so that human and physical resources
can be shared, and the enrichment of their students will
result.
2.
This Statement of Cooperation does not supercede existing
university and college procedures or prescribe the kind of
arrangements which may develop. However, where common
interests can be demonstrated, consistent with 1. above, the
institutions will work together to develop educational
proposals and appropriate mechanisms for student access.
3.
Each institution agrees to give the other timely notice if
the termination of any cooperative arrangement becomes
necessary or desirable, and to cooperate in winding down such
arrangements in ways that will do as little harm as possible
to the other institution's students and programs.
