The Department of Geography proposes the following changes for the
1990-91 Calendar:.
New courses: GEOG 264-3 and GEOG 3.11-4
GEOG 264, Canadian Cities, will expand the Department's offerings
in the existing
group
of urban geography courses. This course will
be attractive to Canadian Studies students, and to those students.
completing GEOG 100 and GEOG 162.
GEOG 311, Hydrology, is
.
a reintroduction of a course that was
dropped one year 1 ago because of limited faculty resources. The
Dcpur1inezt. hw now hired a new faculty member, Dan Moore, and the
course reflects his teaching and research interests.
Course Revisions: GEOG 261, GEOG 325, and GEOG 362
GEOG 261, .Introduction to Urban Geography, is a revision of GEOG
361. As an intr 1
oductory course, it is best taught at the 200 level
where it can act . as a prerequisite for urban studies courses that
follow at the 300 and 400 level.
GEOG 325, Geogr.aphy of Service Activities. The
change
in
prerequisite reflects the move of GEOG 361 to 261, GEOG 261 serves
to prepare students for GEOG 325 and can be an alternative
prerequisite to 3EOG 221.
GEOG 362, Geography of Urban Development. The change in
prerequisite reflects the move of GEOG 361 to 261. GEOG 261 serves
to prepare student for GEOG 362 and can be an alternative
prerequisite to GEOG 241.
