UNIVERSITY SIZE

At its meeting of February 15th, 1989, The Senate Committee on

Academic Planning approved the dissolution of the Task Force on

University Size and voted to replace it with a new subcommittee of

SCAP to be called the Senate Committee on Enrollment Management and

Planning.

Terms of reference and membership for the new committee are attached

for the information of Senate

SENATE COMMITTEE ON ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING

To oversee the implementation of the recommendations of the

Report of the Task Force on University Size.

To develop and recommend to SCAP policies for limiting

undergraduate enrollment based upon available resources.

3.

To establish and recommend to SCAP annual targets for

undergraduate headcount enrollment based on academic achievement and

potential.

4.

To establish and recommend to SCAP annual intake quotas in all

undergraduate student admission categories (high school, college

transfer, international, mature, etc.).

5.

To consider proposals from Faculties for limiting enrollments to

Faculties and/or Programs and to make annual recommendations to SCAP.

7.

To monitor closely the impact of enrollment limitation measures

and recommend appropriate changes as needed, to SCAP for

consideration.

8.

To examine and make recommendations to SCAP on the expected

growth in off-campus enrollments such as Downtown and DISC with a

view to maximizing opportunities for students while restricting on-

campus registration to an

approprjate

capacity.
