Senate
SUBJECT: Master's Requirements
?
DATE:
25
March 1991
Changes to the university requirements. for the Master's degree (graduate
regulation 1.7.2) were approved by the Senate Graduate Studies Committee at its
meeting of 28 January 1991 and approved in a slightly modified form by S.C.A.P.
on 6 March 1991. These changes are intended to permit individual graduate
programs to develop Master's programs in which there is no thesis, project or
extended essays.
The rationale for the change is contained in the documentation accompanying the
proposal to change the M.A. options in the English Department. This proposal
provided the impetus for the S.G.S.C. to consider the change to the general
regulations.
