ADMISSION TARGETS BY BASIS OF ADMISSION FOR FALL, 1991 AND SPRING,
1992.
Within the admission targets identified above there are, broadly speaking, three
groups of students for which separate targets must be identified at this time. These
are B.C. GRXII, B.C. College Transfer, and "Other". "Other" includes University
Transfer, Degree holders, Mature, Out-of-Province GRXII or College Transfer,
Visiting, Special Entry, Concurrent Studies, B.C. GRXI, B.C. Technical School, etc.
We are proposing that the intake targets and the corresponding minimum Grade
Point Averages required for each group be established as follows for Fall,1991 and
Spring, 1992.:

SIMON FRASER
UNIVERSITY
?
MEMORANDUM
TO: Senate Committee on
?
FROM:
W. Wattarnaniuk, Director
Enrollment Management
?
Analytical Studies
and Planning
SUBJECT:
Undergraduate Admissions
?
DATE: January 31st, 1991
Targets for 1991/92
We expect that the Ministry of Advanced Education, Training and Technology will
fund, in year three of the Provincial Access Program, an undergraduate enrollment
increase of 450 full-time equivalents (FTE) at Simon Fraser University for the fiscal
year 1991/92.
With this information we are now in a position to propose the following enrollment
and admission targets for Fall, 1991 and Spring, 1992.
FTE ENROLLMENT TARGETS FOR 1991/92
Our latest estimate for the fiscal year 1990/91 indicates that Simon Fraser University
will exceed its funded enrollment requirements by approximately 134 FTE
undergraduates. We expect that the Ministry will allow us to carry this excess over
into 1991/92.
As a result, our undergraduate enrollments are required to increase globally by at
least 316 FTE to meet the funding requirements for 1991/92. This will represent an
increase of approximately 3% on the 1990/91 enrollment base.
ADMISSION TARGETS FOR 1991/92
Allowing for the enrollments expected to be generated by undergraduates continuing
from previous semesters, we have estimated that the following admission targets will
be required to achieve the FTE increases referred to above:
