Rationale
The Department of Psychology requires a Comprehensive Examination
in both graduate program areas, Experimental and Clinical. This
requirement is clearly specified in the calendar regulations, but
the students' transcripts have never provided any indication of
the Comprehensive Examination, its evaluation or completion date.
We have recently revised the departmental guidelines for the
Comprehensive Examination. As part of this work the Department
decided that completion of the Comprehensive Examination should
be recognized by an appropria

regular course number (PSYC

as the form of entry.
Students in the clinical program may complete the Comprehensive Examina on
each semester
although it is initiated in the
