Action undertaken by the Senate Graduate Studies Committee and the Senate Committee on
Academic Planning (SCAP 93 - 3) gives rise to the following motion:
Motion: ?
"That Senate approve and recommend approval to the Board of Governors

as set forth in S.93 - 25, that Senate delegate to the Senate Graduate Studies
Committee the authority to grant final approval to all changes in prerequisites of
graduate courses and changes in course titles and course descriptions of graduate
courses where, in the opinion of the Dean of Graduate Studies, these represent
minor changes in course content, and to report such actions in summary form to
SCAP
and Senate
for information and the Board of Governors for ratification."

In the interests of efficiency, Senate has delegated to the Senate Committee on Undergraduate
Studies the authority to grant final approval to changes in the prerequisites of undergraduate
courses.
Parallel to this, I wish to propose a similar, but slightly broader, delegation to the SGSC. The
following motion will be on the agenda of the next meeting of the Senate Graduate Studies
Committee:
"That Senate delegate to the Senate Graduate Studies Committee the authority to grant final ap-
proval to all changes in prerequisites of graduate courses and changes in course titles and course
