RE:
New Student Intake Targets
?
DATE: September 28, 1995
for 1996/97
The Senate Committee on Enrollment Management and Planning (SCEMP) has
been mandated by Senate (SCIMO recommendation No. 2) to bring planned changes
in the size of the University or its departments and programs to SCAP, Senate, and
to the Board of Governors in October each year for approval.
SCEMP met on September 27th, 1995 and approved a proposal to increase
enrollment by 300 funded FTE in the 1996/97 fiscal year; 200 undergraduate and 100
graduate. This proposal is being forwarded to SCAP for approval and further
consideration by Senate and the Board of Governors prior to a submission to the
Ministry of Skills, Training, and Labour. It carries with it the condition that SFU
receive full funding from the Provincial Government for the additional FTEs and
that SFU would be prepared to increase enrollments generally or in specific
discipline areas where targetted funding is received.
The funded FIE enrollment base in 1995/96 is 12,590 FTE undergraduates and 1,379
FTE graduates.
'That SCAP approve and recommend approval to Senate and the
Board a proposed increase of 200 funded FTE undergraduate
students and 100 graduate students in the 1996/97 fiscal year."
