Having discussed the following changes with the members of SCAR, the following
amendments are recommended to the Rules of Senate, Section IV. Elections, M.
General Regulations for Elections Conducted at Senate:

The following changes to the Rules of Senate regarding elections be
approved:
Change concerning elections conducted at Senate.

For elections conducted at Senate a ballot showing more or less votes
than the number of vacancies to be filled shall be invalid.

In elections at Senate if there is a tied vote there shall be an additional
ballot to choose between the persons concerned.

In elections at Senate if there is a tied vote
between two candidates for
one position, the winner shall be determined by a toss of the coin
conducted by the Registrar at a time set by the Registrar and in the
presence of the affected candidates or their representatives. Where
there are more than two candidates tied for one position,
there shall be
an additional ballot to choose between the persons concerned.
This motion shall be considered at the outset of the Senate meeting on 1 June and, if
approved, shall govern the elections at Senate on 1 June.
