Subject ?
Senate Committee membership matters
Date: ?

A.
Staggered memberships
The entire memberships of
.
Senate Committee on International Activities
(S CIA),
International Student Exchange Committee (ISEC) and the Senate Nominating
Committee (SNC) are up for re-election this year. Some continuity usually occurs
but could be assisted if we instituted staggered memberships. We recommend this
year in the election of the faculty on these committees that:
for
S CIA,
the faculty members receiving the highest and second highest
number of votes be elected for two year terms and the faculty member
receiving the third highest votes be elected for a one year term.
for ISEC, the faculty member receiving the highest number of votes be
elected for a two year term and the faculty members receiving the second
and third highest votes be elected for one year terms.
for SNC, the two senators receiving the highest votes be elected for a two
year term and the two senators receiving the third and fourth highest
votes be elected for a one year term.
unless terms are agreed by those who are nominated to these committees.
B.
