RE:
2001-1 Undergraduate Admission DATE: October 16, 2000
Targets
FOR INFORMATION
At the meeting of the Senate Committee on Enrollment Management and
Planning (SCEMP) on Wednesday, October 4th, 2000, a motion was approved to
reduce the new undergraduate intake planned for the spring semester of 2001
from 1,221 students (approved by Senate at its June meeting) to 1,000 new
students. The intake target would be reduced proportionately over all Basis-of-
Admission groups and all Faculties.
In approving the motion, SCEMP took into consideration that FTE enrollments in
2000-2 and 2000-3 were higher than expected and that the planned intake level of
1,221 students in spring would result in a excess of 190 FTE over the provincially
funded FTE target for fiscal year 2000/2001. The effect of lowering the intake
target by 221 students would result in a reduction of approximately 75 FTE.
The resulting distribution is shown on the attached table.
