This is a combined report from the University Board on Student Discipline (UBSD) and the
Senate Committee on Disciplinary Appeals (SCODA) covering the period September 1, 1999 to
August 31, 2000. A summary of the cases heard by UBSD and SCODA is attached for the
information of Senate.

University Board on Student Discipline
The University Board on Student Discipline dealt with one case involving an allegation of
academic dishonesty in the period covered by the report. The Board determined that the alleged
offence had taken place and recommended penalty to the President.
Two further appeals submitted by students against departmental findings of academic dishonesty
were abandoned by the students prior to formal hearing.

Annual Report, 1999 - 2000
This report covers the period September 1, 1999— August 31, 2000. No decisions or
disciplinary actions were referred to or heard by SCODA during the reporting period.
SCODA met once during the reporting period on a matter of non-academic misconduct.
This case was reported in the previous year's Annual Report as it was initiated and heard
by the UBSD in the previous year.
No other meetings were held and no Chair was elected for the period from June 1, 2000
to August 31, 2000.
