Appointments Without Term!

Special Appointment Policy

This proposed policy was discussed at the September 1999 meeting of Senate

and referred to SCAR for consideration and disposition.

I have now had an opportunity to review the purpose of this proposal and

engage in discussions with the Faculty Association as to an appropriate way of

proceeding. We have reached a stage where a renegotiation of the Limited Term

Faculty Policy (A 12.05) to encompass the types of appointments envisaged in S.99-53

would be the best way to proceed. This would be consistent with the way the terms

and conditions of other academic appointments are dealt with.
