Reference for the International Student

Exchange Committee (ISEC)

The Senate Committee on International Activities (SCIA) recently noted an

inconsistency in its terms of reference and those of its subcommittee, ISEC.

Whereas SCIA advises and recommends to the Vice-President, Academic, ISEC's terms

of reference called on it to advise the Vice-President, Academic and the President. In

order to bring greater consistency to the committees' respective terms of reference,

ISEC has recommended, and SCIA has agreed, that ISEC's terms of reference be

amended as follows.

Under "Responsibifities", Article 4 should now read:

"To make recommendations through SCIA to the Vice-President, Academic on the

establishment of any new international or domestic undergraduate or graduate student

exchange agreements. The Chair of ISEC will report to SCIA on ISEC decisions."

I would be grateful if you would inform SCAR and Senate of this change.
