Short term replacements for Research Ethics Board

At its meeting on 23 September 2003, the Senate Committee on Agenda and Rules

considered a request from the Research Ethics Board Chair about short term

replacements for Research Ethics Board members who are unable to attend meetings.

Motion

SP rrnmmes that Senate approve and recommend to the Board of

Governors, a revision of the membership selection process for the Research

Ethics Board contained in Policy R 20.01 as follows:

3.7 f.

In the event that a member of the Research Ethics Board is unable to

attend its meetings, the Senate Committee on Agenda and Rules has

the authority to appoint a temporary replacement to act in place of the

regular member

until the regular member returns or until an election

can be held.
