Annual Report for 2001/02
Senate Library Committee Meetings
The Senate Library Committee met 4 times during the 2001/02 fiscal year. Meeting highlights
include:
• Reviewed and supported the proposed expenditure of approximately $115,000 from the
Library's endowment income and the approximate one time $350,000 savings from
participating in the Canadian National Site Licensing Project (CNSLP).
• Recommended that serials usage data collection continue to be collected in 2002 and
added to previous samples. The data is available from the Library's website.
• Reviewed and supported in principle the Information Commons project proposal. The
Information Commons will provide more effective ways of supporting students and
faculty research, and provide and extra five years growth in shelf space.
• Supported the Journals Move Project which moved over 20,000 volumes of ceased or
cancelled journals from the
6th
floor to Lam. Some volumes were also moved from Vt
Floor Closed Storage to Lam to reduce the number of locations a title would be located.
