At its February 25, 2004 meeting SCUP reviewed and approved the proposal from the

Faculty of Arts for the Faculty name change, which is now forwarded to Senate.

Motion

That Senate approve and recommend to the Board of Governors the change in name

for the Faculty from the 'Faculty ofrts' to the 'Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences',

John, the ballots have been counted on a proposed new name for the Faculty and

I am pleased

-

to report that faculty members voted overwhelmingly for the

Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).

The voting was as follows: 123 'Yes'; 15 'no'; 3 'abstain'; and 3 ballots were

spoiled. The scrutineers were John Tietz and Rosemary Tulett.

I would therefore like to request that this proposed name change go before SCUP

for discussion and hopefully approval.
