Enclosed are documents related to the following proposed changes to physics courses and programs.
The changes are summarized below:
We propose to change the alternate CHEM prerequisite for PH'YS 485 Particle
cause a higher level of quantum mechanics is required for this course.

PHYS 231, 233, 332, 431 and
increase the credit assigned to ?
VS 332. Student onsistently take more time to do labs
than allocated in the vector. Incre ?
g the assi ed lab hours will mean that students can
complete the tabs without rushing and ?

norms. We also would like to add a one- ?
lecture to PHYS 332 to provide time for
instruction in writing-related issues a experi ?
tal methods and data analysis. Because of

this, we would like to increase thumber of credit ?
r PHYS 332 from 3 to 4. This also
makes the credit assignment ore consistent with the ?

students consistently say
more work than is justified by I ?

We propose to officially cancel the Physics and Physiology program. This program has been in
existence for about 10 years, but student interest has been minimal. This program is offered jointly
with Kinesiology; Kinesiology does not object to canceling the program. They have recently
initiated a Biomedical Engineering program with the School of Engineering. That combined with
the new program in Biological Physics should offer students sufficient options.
Thank you,

Hi Rolfe,
Yes, Kinesiology is in agreement with the deletion of the Physics and Physiology program.
Thanks Richard

• Your rapid response would be appreciated. Please send and
