For information
At its meeting of
13th
March 2006 Senate Graduate Studies Committee approved the following
curriculum and calendar changes in the Faculty of Applied Sciences:
I. REM Ph.D. program coursework
• Courses of degree requirements - deletion of the sentence
"All courses in the school can be taken for credit toward a PhD degree except REM 601
and directed studies courses."
• REM 601-5 Social Science of Natural Resources Management - deletion of the sentence
"Not for credit toward a PhD in resource and environmental management."
These changes would allow Ph.D. students to take REM 60
1-5
and directed studies courses for
credit.
2.
KIN M.Sc. (coursework) program
• KIN
809-1.5
Project completion - new course proposal
• Degree requirements
from "All students must also complete a one-semester directed study project KIN 804."
to "All students must also complete a one-semester directed study project KIN 804.
Students who do not complete their project in one semester must register for KIN 809
(Project Completion) in all subsequent semesters until the project is completed No
additional credit will be given for KIN 809."
These changes would allow part-time students to complete KIN 804-3 project in more than one
semester, for the purposes of registration and fees.
Senators wishing to consult the documents concerning these items should contact Bobbie Grant,
Senate Assistant at (604) 291-3168 or bgrantsfu.ca
