RATIONALE
Currently, the Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree allows for up to 90 units of transfer credit,
while the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree permits only 60 units of transfer credit.
The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences wants to ensure equity in the allowance of transfer credit for
its degrees. Reducing the amount of transfer credit allowed in the BGS degree to 60 units brings the
BGS and the BA degree to the same standard.
