Motion requested by Sit-non Fraser Student Societ
I DATE ?
2 September
2008
Senator Joe Paling forwarded the attached motion which was considered by the Senate
Committee on Agenda and Rules today. After consideration, the committee agreed
?
that a motion could go forward to Senate and suggested that the wording be amended
so that it was consistent with similar motions previously approved by Senate. The
suggested rewording of the motion IS:
That Senate requests that instructors do not penalize students academically
for their participation in a protest on 1 October 2008 against the funding cuts
the province has imposed on SFU.
A similar motion was considered at the January 2007 meeting of Senate concerning a
Day of Action in February 2007.
