The following Senate committees have vacancies for election by Senate resulting from the
establishment of the new Faculties. Elections, if required, will be conducted on-line following the
Senate meeting on Monday, April 6, 2009 for those positions noted below.
Under Senate regulations, any Senator who wishes to submit nominations may do so by notifying the
Secretary of Senate in writing (email watt@sfu.ca
') of such nominations. Nominations must be
received by the Secretary no later than Friday. April 3, 2009. Nominations received after that time - -
will not be accepted. Senators making nominations must ensure in advance that the nominee is -
willing to stand for election.
Senate Committee-on University Priorities (SCUP)
One Faculty Senator from the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology for term of office
from April 1, 2009 to May 31, 2012.

One Faculty Senator from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences for term of office from April 1,
2009 to May 31, 2010.
Greg Dow
Senate Committee on University Teaching and Learning (SCUTL)
One Faculty member from the Faculty of Applied Sciences for term of office from 1 April 2009 to
May 31, 2010.
Brad Bart
One Faculty member from the Faculty of Environment for term of office from 1 April 2009 to May
31, 2012.
Alison Gill
As approved by Senate at its meeting on May 12, 2008, balloting for Senate Committee elections will

. be done on-1ine. Candidate statements will be put on-line and will be available through a link at
http://students.sfu.ca/electio
ns/
during the balloting period. Following the Senate meeting, a web
survey ballot will be released with an email announcement to
all
Senators. Voting will be permitted
for approximately 48 hours, and election results will be released within three days of the end of
voting.
