The University Act and Rules of Senate require that the Registrar report the results of
elections to Senate and the Board of Governors for information.
Faculty Election to Senate
A call for nominations was sent to all faculty members on May 11,2012 for faculty
positions on Senate. The following candidate was elected by and from the Faculty of Arts
and Social Sciences, by acclamation, to replace Shuyu Kong from September 1,2012 to
May 31,2013:

Faculty Election to the Board of Governors
A call for nominations was sent to all faculty members on May 11,2012 for one faculty
position on the Board of Governors. The following candidate was elected by and from
faculty members jointly, through an online vote, to replace Gordon Myers from
September 1,2012 to May 31,2015:
Nicolas Schmitt
A faculty call will be issued in the Fall 2012 term for the remaining two vacancies on
Senate.
Student Election to Senate
A call for nominations was sent on May 11, 2012 to all undergraduate and graduate
students for three student positions on Senate. According to the election rules, the
positions were required to be filled by at least one student (graduate or undergraduate)
elected from the Faculty ofApplied Sciences and one graduate student. The term of
office for all three positions was from June 1,2012 to May 31,2013.

Student Election to the Board of Governors
A call for nominations was sent on May 11,2012 to all undergraduate and graduate
studentsfor one position on the Board of Governors. This position became available
when Arry Dhillon resigned from his elected position.
In the election
ofone student by the student body to the Board of Governors, voting
resulted in the election ofthe following candidate for term of office from June 1,2012 to
May 31,2013:

There are no remaining student vacancies on Senate or the Board of Governors.
