EDUCATION 472 - DESIGNS FOR LEARNING
PRIMARY LANGUAGE ARTS
This course will deal with current educational practices
in
the primary
classrooms of British Columbia. Among the specific topics to be studied
are: - Child Development as it is Related to Learning
- Reading Skills Relevant to the Primary Years
- Approaches to Teaching Reading
- Phonics
- Grouping for Reading
- Individualizing Reading Instruction
- Creative Writing
- Listening Skills and Ways to Develop Them
- Development of Research Skills
Students will be expected to complete several assignments relevant to
Course work.
TIME: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Class limit: 25
