    - To help students play a more significant role in guiding children in
    the selective use of literary resources.
    - To initiate students to the many ways of using children's books and
    texts as pedagogical tools.
    - To help students develop techniques and experitnente strategies in the
    use of children's texts, taking into consideration their personal and
    professional needs and interests.
    OUTLINE OF TOPICS
    - The world of children. Diachronic and synchronic points of view.
    - Children's literature. Its history.. Its uniqueness and diversity. Cri-
    teria for analysis.
    - The genre approach: story books for the little ones; dictionaries and
    picture books; comic strips; nursary tales and nursary rhymes; fary-
    tales and legends; stories and novels; documentaries.
    - Prospects: improvisation, puppets, theatre techniques...
    FORMAT
    Lectures and practical work: round-table conferences, individual work,
    discussion groups, workshops, seminars.
    COURSE WORK
    - Compulsory readings: books on reserve in library.
    - Production of reference cards on readings.
    - Dramatic readings of text-s.
    - Experimental projects: to imagine and animate a variety of activities
    related to a text.
    - Creating: a picture book, a short story, a theatre play, an audio play,
    a documentary...
