    1. Students will become knowledgeable about the major issues which affect
    decisions regarding the education of young children.

    Students will become knowledgeable about various theories of child
    development, instruction and learning; and the various curriculum designs
    which have evolved from these theories for use in early childhood programs.
    3.
    Students will become competent in the design of curriculum for young children.
    4.
    Students will become articulate about the problems and prospects that will
    influence early childhood education in the future.

    reporting to parents, relations with other professionals

    Students should have a basic course in psychology or in educational psychology
    prior to registration. Students lacking such a backbround may contact the
    instructor for suggestions for self-study prior to registration.
