Students must have had an introductory linguistics course before they
can enroll in Education 467.
TOPICS:
The course will cover:

approaches, methods and techniques of E.S.L.

teaching speaking, listening, writing and reading

error analysis
ci) discourse analysis

testing

second language acquisition
OBJECTIVES:
This course is designed to give students interested in teaching English
as a second language an introduction to the area. The course will
begin with a survey of the approaches and methods of teaching E.S.L.
and then explore specific areas, speaking, listening, reading, and
writing, considering the problems and difficulties of each area.
