This course is intended to provide practising or pre-service teachers with
an overview of linguistic, cultural and pedagogical concerns in teaching
English as
a
second language. Participants will discuss the disciplinary
bases of contemporary approaches to second language teaching, will survey and
evaluate curricular methods and materials, and finally, will develop materials
which might be useful in their own actual or projected teaching situations.
