Range of Topics
The pace of change In the subject fields of the social sciences (including
education) has forced educatàrs to shift their focus from the findings of
research fields to the Immediate tasks of the classroom teacher. In the
process, teaching strategies have emerged as the most useful framework to
co-ordinate the latest theories of learning with both the subject fields
and the classroom situation. In this course the following teaching strategies
will receive particular attention - inquiry, simulation, openers, value analysis,
evaluation, skill development, concept formation, development, and attainment.
Alongside the presentation and discussion of these strategies, there will be
opportunities for the development of specific materials within the framework
of a curriculum design.
