EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
This course will explore theory, research, and practice concerning the
education of young children in the age range of 3 to 8 years. The broad goals of
this course are
1.
to develop an awareness of a number of current issues concerning the
education of young children.
2. to encourage critical thinking about these issues.
3.
to encourage an appreciation of the uniqueness of all children within the
context of developmental norms.
4.
to encourage reflection on values and beliefs and to understand how those
values and beliefs influence practice with young children.
